What to expect

What to expect at your newborn session: Usually session will take around 2-3 hours, be prepared for some accident as your little ones are going to be naked most of the time. So some towels and extra blankets would be helpful.  Please bring some supplemental formula (if any) for the session, we will be taking frequent meal breaks. You are welcome to bring cute outfits, accessories or other items you would like me to incorporate into your shots! I usually set up 5-10 different photostations, different props and backdrops, each will take about 5-10 minutes, rest of the time is going to be cuddling, feeding and calming the baby.  Newborn photosession is a bit of work and its all about patience! So, one of the parents will be helping me around the set, making sure the baby does not roll or fall off the props while I am behind a camera.  Safety is number one priority in the studio!  Extra pair of hands with these little ones around the set is very much appreciated!

For family photos: neutral colors, white, solid colors or matching looks better for any group photos.  Makeup (a bit heavier than normal), lipstick or gloss for women, hair gel for man, lotion for skin (if applicable) is preferred. For outside portraits, its best to wear something light in color, black is not the best color for outdoors, it absorbs lots of light and makes images darker. Anything sparkling or vintage works usually better. On opposite, black color is great for studio shots.

For any photosession, please bring any and all your best outfits and I will coordinate the backdrops and props for the appropriate costume.  There is a changing room at the studio at your disposal. You are welcome to bring any baby toys you want me to incorporate into your shots.  I do have a few at the studio, as well as some kids and adult clothing.

For children portraits session, please note that sometimes it is best to do individual portrait, one child at a time as all children of small age compete for parents attention, so, one sibling will be literally in the way of the other. Also, two parents are better than one, especially with small children, one has to watch the child while he/she in on a prop, for a safety reason, and the other helps me to get the child to smile. A successful session is a hard working processes of all involved. I do also recommend to bring another adult, a friend, a parent or a babysitter, someone who can help with dressing, feeding, and just to keep an eye on the children so the session can go quickly and smooth. Attention span for a child of 2 years old for example, is only 2 minutes, 3 year old is 3 minutes, so in that time my goal is to get the child’s best look, also make sure that my studio lighting is adjusted and props, background  are appropriate.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me before the session.
